Thanksgiving is a time to pause, reflect, and appreciate the power of community. As we close out another election season, NYC Votes is thankful for every New Yorker who registered, researched, showed up at the polls, supported their neighbors, or helped spread the word. This year’s election was filled with moments that proved that civic engagement is a community effort.​​

2025 Election Season Highlights​​ 

  • Two million​​  New Yorkers voted — the highest voter turnout in over a decade!​​ 
  • Matching Funds Program contribution total in 2025 = $40,393,176​​ 

  • Number of contributors to the Matching Funds Program in 2025: 252,364 ​​ 

  • Average contribution to the Matching Funds Program: $160​​ 

New York City saw historic voter turnout and contributions to campaigns in the General Election, an increase in voter engagement this year, and more enthusiasm in every borough. From early voting to Election Day, New Yorkers showed a renewed commitment to shaping the future of their city.​​

  • 116 partner organizations engaged with NYC Votes​​ 

  • 325 voter education & outreach events​​

This election season, our community partners joined NYC Votes to host voter drives, educate first-time voters, and uplift civic engagement at the neighborhood level.​​

Digital Outreach: What We Accomplished Together​​ 

  • Digital ads generated 35 million impressionsthe number of times our ads were displayed to users.​​ 
  • Subway riders saw our ads in 9 languages, with​​  over 1,000 MTA placements receiving​​  ​​​ 14 million impressions.​​​ 

  • New Yorkers heard​​  355 ​​ in-language radio ads creating election awareness.​​ 

  • Social media users saw our content over 25 million times online and engaged more than​​  35,000 times.​​  

Our digital content reached millions of residents citywide, providing clear, accessible, and nonpartisan information to help New Yorkers make informed choices at the polls.​​

Celebrating the Volunteers Who Powered This Season​​ 

  • Volunteers worked 877 volunteer shifts and had 30,000 conversations about voting with people across the city.​​  

  • 1.5 million text message reminders were sent to support voters ahead of Election Day.​​ 
  • 14,640 New Yorkers pledged to vote.​​ 

From tabling at street fairs to registering voters at block parties, volunteers gave hours of service that helped voters feel confident and prepared.​​
